The aim of Arbeitskreis Thanatologie is to provide a forum for the extensive social research that has been carried out in the German-speaking countries for several years and within the framework of various disciplines on dying, death and mourning. The aim is to strengthen the sociological position within death research and make thantosociology more visible within the social sciences. The organisation conducts annual events. The website has news, publications and information on membership.
The Cemetery Research Group runs two events a year: in May and in November. Follow the links and send in an abstract
