Abby Hammond

Department of Humanities (History), Northumbria University

I am a PhD Student researching women named on ledger stones from 1640 to 1815 inside Newcastle Cathedral. I am interested in intramural burial, particularly the material culture and language of memorials. More broadly, my interests lie in eighteenth century funerary practices in England, and heritage engagement related to burial spaces.
