My research focuses on burial sites in Boston, Massachusetts, and considers how burials were affected by large scale events such as the American Revolution and widespread epidemics. This study explores how these events are reflected throughout final resting places, as well as the impact these resting places have on the ideas of public memory. The research focuses particularly on how propaganda and popular memory of the Boston Massacre affected the funerary traditions of eighteenth-century Boston.
