Death studies, especially in conversation with contemporary British religion and ritual. Post-doctoral research to date has included UK pandemic funerals and training UK clergy for dementia care. Late 2023 will take up a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship to examine contemporary UK ‘grave goods’ practices, situating these in conversation with a) afterlife beliefs, b) environmental concerns and c) archaeological interpretation of historic grave goods.
