Working within the discipline of Sociology. Recent research explores the evolving conceptualizations of funerary spaces as multifaceted memoryscapes within urban planning, architecture, and social memory. Drawing from the research “Transformations and Visions of New Memory Landscapes: From Natural Cemeteries to Proposals for the Expansion of the National Tomb Slavín,” the study examines how contemporary design proposals reflect shifts towards sustainable, ecologically integrated memorial spaces. Analysing student designs from ČVUT for the expansion of the National Tomb Slavín, the paper highlights the incorporation of natural elements like green roofs, vertical gardens, and recycled materials to promote sustainability and ecological balance.
Forthcoming publications (articles, book) are linked to memory places.
