My primary research sits at the intersection of memory studies and media, considering media’s role in shaping understandings of the past. My book about Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, titled Culture, Celebrity, and the Cemetery: Hollywood Forever, was published by Routledge in 2018. I remain interested in contemporary and historical uses of cemeteries as social space and how those experiences impact attitudes about death and dying. I also continue to study memorials and sites of commemoration and public memory from a rhetorical perspective.
