The Cemetery Research Group holds historical documents relating to the UK’s National Association of Cemetery Superintendents, which was established in 1913 and is now known as the Institute for Cemetery and Crematorium Management. The documents include a full run of The Journal, which was published four times a year, and annual conference reports which report presentations and following questions. The US Association for Gravestone Studies has an extensive collection of material  including books, research papers, photographs, postcards, articles, and other gravestone related materials. In 2010, this material was transferred to the Department of Special Collections, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Access is  freely accessible to non-AGS members under the standard Department of Special Collections’ procedures.

In the UK, Durham University holds archives of the British Cremation Society and the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities. These extensive archives include material on the progress of cremation in towns and cities throughout the UK, but also reflect the Cremation Society’s international links.
